From selecting carbide grades and coatings to designing complete sets of custom tooling, our toolmaking team works closely with our programmers, machinists and suppliers to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization. The team develops new and innovative tooling solutions that are often mean the difference between success and failure, allowing us to provide customers with world-class products, on time and budget.

Our team has a genuine passion for cutting tools and is committed to ensuring all of its members leverage the knowledge and learning we have accumulated within our tool data management system. This allows us to standardize, simplify and streamline the tool selection process and optimize each manufacturing process as rapidly as possible. Equipped with some of Metalex’s most precise CNC machinery, our tooling specialists work closely with industry-leading cutting tool manufacturers – as well as our internal programming and high-tech teams – to use out-of-the-box thinking to design and quickly produce a variety of unique tools on daily basis for our most difficult cutting applications.
