Trusted as the only supplier capable of manufacturing these critical components, Metalex overcame considerable production challenges. Wall and web thicknesses were as thin as 0.085" with depths up to 6" despite significant part movement during machining. The 100+ bushing holes required ±0.0012" centerline tolerances across a 60" hinge area, while the adjoining composite skins needed a 0.007" profile on its outside contour surface for ideal stealth characteristics.

Working with our customers , Metalex succeeded in ushering this project through the prototype development phase to set up specialized manufacturing cells to support initial and full-rate production.
