Metalex Achieves United Technologies Supplier Gold Status
In December 2008, Metalex became the 21st Supplier (out of 10,000) to achieve United Technologies Corporation's Supplier Gold Status within Pratt and Whitney.
Metalex Manufacturing has become the 21st Pratt and Whitney Supplier and the 1st P&W Rocketdyne Supplier to be awarded the UTC Supplier Gold rating. This rating recognizes outstanding performance in quality, delivery customer satisfaction and exceptional ratings in an industry standard lean assessment.
Metalex, Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a high technology contract machine shop whose customers include major spacecraft and aircraft builders, NASA and major consumer goods companies.
"We rely on Metalex to provide precision parts for a variety of our programs, and having them achieve UTC Supplier Gold is a major step in improving the performance of our entire value chain" said Joe Sylvestro, vice president, PWR operations and Supply Management.

"PWR employees have worked closely with the Metalex team and helped them incorporate value stream mapping, standard work, TPM, 6S and point-of-use tooling."
